Water & Ice-Dam Ceiling Damage Repair — Wasilla & Big Lake
Stained, sagging, or crumbling ceiling after a leak or an ice dam? We cut out the damage, dry-fit new board, and blend the texture so the ceiling looks like nothing ever happened.
Ice Dams and Leaks Are an Alaska Fact of Life
Every spring, Mat-Su homes show the winter's damage: brown rings on the ceiling, tape lines lifting, corners going soft. Snow melts on a warm roof section, refreezes at the cold eave, and the backed-up water finds its way into the ceiling below. Cabins and lake homes around Big Lake see it constantly.
What we repair:
- Water-stained and sagging ceiling drywall
- Ceilings opened up for plumbing leak repairs
- Ice-dam damage along eave walls and ceiling edges
- Popcorn and knockdown ceilings — matched after the patch
- Whole-ceiling replacement when the damage is too widespread to patch
One honest note: fix the water source first. We patch drywall — we don't fix roofs or pipes — and a beautiful repair under an unfixed leak is money wasted. If the leak is handled, we can usually schedule small ceiling repairs quickly.
How a Ceiling Repair Goes
- Photos first. Text or email a couple of pictures of the damage — that's usually enough for a ballpark price.
- Cut back to dry, sound board. Wet drywall doesn't get saved; it gets removed before it grows anything.
- New board, tape, and coats. Coats need drying time, so ceiling repairs are typically two or three short visits.
- Texture blend. The patch edge gets feathered wide and the texture matched so you can't find the repair line.
